Meet The Team

Cotswold Posy Patch is run by Liz and Laura

Liz: Hi I’m Liz and I run The Cotswold Posy Patch. I started the business in 2015 at the same time as I was volunteering for a local charity, gardening with people with disabilities. Whilst at the charity, I started growing cut flowers with the students there and loved seeing the enjoyment they got out of it and the generosity they showed in sharing their flowers and the arrangements they made with other people. The experience inspired me to pursue my dream of developing my own “flower farm” and so The Cotswold Posy Patch was born.

I’m obsessed with flowers and love nothing more than poring over the seed catalogues finding unusual varieties of cut flowers to grow. Many of my varieties are not widely available from high street florists and supermarkets.  There are so many reasons for choosing British-grown flowers: many are scented, something which is bred out of many imported varieties, more delicate varieties are available, they are cut to order so are super fresh, their are no air miles associated with them and they have great nostalgia value. British flowers reflect the ever changing beauty of an English country garden though the seasons and connect us to the natural world around us.

I love sharing what I do with other people and running workshops and my monthly Flower Club are two of my favourite parts of the business.

Look forward to meeting you soon,

Liz x

Laura: Hi I’m Laura, plant and flower enthusiast and general assistant at the Cotswold Posy Patch. I help Liz at the plot with whatever seasonal jobs need doing, and I run the admin side of the business, so you’ll find me at the other end of the phone and email if you need to contact us! I send out our newsletters and do some of the other behind the scenes work like taking photos and helping to plan and run events like our Pick Your Own Posy event and Florist Open Day over the summer.

I’ve always had a passion for plants and flowers, and I’m currently studying horticulture in my spare time.

Working at the Posy Patch has given me a new sense of purpose and direction after having my baby and battling chronic illness. It’s such a pleasure to work with Liz in such beautiful surroundings, and I find the process of nurturing plants very immersive and therapeutic.
