GLOUCESTER ARTS AND CRAFTS SUMMER SCHOOL
I’ll be at the summer school again this year running my one day workshop on FLOWER ARRANGING WITH BRITISH CUT FLOWERS.
Friday 2 August
Newent Community School, Watery Lane, Newent, Gloucestershire GL18 1QF
During the workshop, participants will learn how to make beautiful natural arrangements using all British-grown seasonal flowers and foliage. In the morning, we will make and wrap a Hand-Tied Gift Bouquet after first practicing the spiral technique with a smaller jam jar posy. In the afternoon students will make a Table Centrepieces in a footed glass bowl. There will be discussion of what makes a good cut flower, the best varieties to choose should you wish to try growing your own cutting patch at home and how to cut and condition flowers for maximum vase life.
Students will be provided with all the flowers they need to make the arrangements as well as all wrapping materials, a footed glass bowl for their table centrepiece and a jam jar and decorations. All tools will also be provided.
